"Avanti, Giver of Life, Matron of the Great Tree. We humbly ask that you protect the Mother as she bares the Fruit of Your Tree unto the world on this day. We humbly beg that the Child she receives be healthy, and strong." - Common prayer from Acolytes of Avanti

Avanti is known as the goddess of Life. Followers of Avanti believe that She is responsible for all living things in Ashriya. Avanti watches over us from Life's first breath until the last, giving us the strength to endure its hardships. She does not ask anything of Her followers, save for respecting the sanctity of Life. What this means is of great debate, even amongst Her most devoted.

For many, respecting the sanctity of Life means protecting those still alive. Many of Her followers train in the healing arts so as to stave off Death’s hand; some of the most well-practiced surgeons and healing mages in Ashriya are devout worshipers of Avanti. Other worshipers prefer to not give enemies the opportunity to cause harm, instead taking up arms or magics against those seeking violence. There is much debate among Avanti worshipers on whether or not it is right to kill in the name of Avanti. Some say that to kill in any regard is to dishonor the Goddess, and that respecting Life means embracing pacifism, or at most, learning how to defend oneself. Others believe this to be a naive, unrealistic perspective that shows how little some people truly understand the world.

There are some worshipers of Avanti who believe that not only do all Living beings come from Avanti, but that all Undead beings as well. While some worshipers of Kammatt may disagree, many followers of Avanti believe that the Undead were born of Avanti, and it is not until mortals attempt to Raise an Undead that a spirit departs from Avanti’s Grace and is embraced by Kammatt. The Order of the Cycle is a sect of Avanti, Death, and Kammatt worshipers that embrace this ideology, believing all three Gods harmoniously play a role in every person's existence.

Though not a strict practice, many followers of Avanti often adopt one of three titles: “Priest”, for those who travel the land offering their healing and protection to those in need; “Monk”, for those who have dedicated themselves to the study of the healing arts, focusing on discovery and improvement; and “Defender of Life”, for warriors who have made it their purpose to do battle in order to protect the lives of others. There is typically a single High Priest of Avanti who presides over all, but that title is currently not used by anyone.

The Acolytes of Avanti are an organization who specialize in providing physical and emotional aid to individuals during pregnancy, believing that providing help to those giving birth is the most significant way they can honor Avanti. They are based out of the town of Ardebon in Syrranak, though they provide their services all across Ashriya.

The Tree Temple of Myra stands as a collection of tomes and knowledge for the purposes of saving lives. Many healers and surgeons travel to Myra, faithful or not, to learn how to save a life. There are also stories of the legendary Tree of Life, fabled to provide gifts from the Goddess; it is supposedly located somewhere in the Greenwood Forest, though nobody has seen it since the Surges began.

Avanti’s color is blue, and Her symbol is a sprawling tree, representative of the Tree of Life.
