"Power is a means to an end. It is what allows us to be able to levy our will and desires onto the world. Zinaar does not teach us what to do with the Power we acquire; that is for us to decide for ourselves."
- The Book of Might

Zinaar, the God of Power, above all other things demands from His followers the pursuit of Power. Zinaar is a god of ambition, cunning, and resourcefulness. For the truly devout Zinaarist, neither law, nor love, nor loyalty are any obstacle on the road to supremacy. As a result, Zinaarists have earned a reputation for being callous, grasping and untrustworthy. Some would even go so far as to claim that Zinaar is a God of Evil, maligned by nature and purpose. However, not all Zinaar-worshippers are heartless bandit-lords. Some of the most dangerous Zinaarists are those who understand the value of trust and loyalty, and forge their social bonds into weapons they wield in the pursuit of power.

There are many paths to power. Many people believe in physical might or arcane mastery as the most reliable sources of power in Ashriya, but the cunning Zinaar worshiper also understands the value of a well-placed letter, a timely bribe, a threat suggested but never spoken. Not all worshippers interpret the mandate to power as necessarily requiring dominion over others, seeking instead to exercise absolute control over themselves.

Many believe the ultimate trajectory of a Zinaarist's devotion is to pursue power for its own sake. However, it's rare for people to start on that path from the beginning. Most are driven to seek Zinaar's favor in order to accomplish some great task they have set before themselves: reform a government, rescue a loved one, redeem a bloodline. To the Zinaarist, the world is often seen as a broken place, one that they sincerely believe they could fix if only they had the power to remake it as they saw fit.

Formal organizations dedicated to the worship of Zinaar come and go. They are most often founded as sects and cults dedicated to furthering the aims of a particularly prominent disciple of Zinaar, and so the organizations tend to wax and wane with the fortunes of the individual leaders. Historically, there is one High Priest of Zinaar who takes the mantle when there are none to contest them.

The Church of Might is a prominent form of Zinaar worship based out of Burcima. Followers of the Church of Might believe that pursuing power for power’s sake alone leads to a path of destruction that is difficult to return from, and that the choices we make have consequences. The Church of Might espouses that followers must know what they want from the world, and must consider, understand, and accept the consequences of the path they tread to attain their desires. The Church of Might is led by a Burciman priest by the name of Gregor Jido.

The Path of Glory is another popular form of Zinaar worship. Those who follow The Path see those who do not as weak for not taking control of that which can strengthen them due to a foolish concern for the effects upon others. They believe that taking power through any means necessary is the ultimate expression of Zinaar worship. Temples and shrines dedicated to those who follow the Path can be found across Ashriya, with notable temples in Barulis and Syrranak. They are led by a worshiper known only as “The Fist of Zinaar.”

Zinaar’s colors are black and red, and His symbol is a set of fangs.
