“In sleep we find salvation as we are released from this world and brought into the safe embrace of Sarik. Sarik guides us in the dreaming world as no one can in the waking. We are the dreamers; our legacy is phantasm.”
- excerpt from the journal of a Sleepwalker

Sarik is the god of Dreams and Visions. It is said Sarik’s form is often in flux, changing with each passing moment. Information about Sarik is difficult to come by, due to Their lack of presence in the waking world. Sarik gives guidance to followers through a series of dreams that some spend their whole lives trying to understand. Others see visions during the waking hours with the intensity of a sleeping dream.

Sarik’s faithful are often seen as disconnected from the real world. They are frequently lost in thought, looking for answers, and trying to make sense of the puzzle at hand. But often that puzzle is very much grounded in the real world. Sarik worshipers just look at the world through a different lens.

Sarik’s followers often turn to their deity for guidance. They see their Dreams as messages from Sarik, giving them the information they need. Followers of Sarik spend a lot of time analyzing the contents of their Dreams, trying to find the answers to their problems, or find warnings about problems they may not know of yet. Many Sarik worshippers keep dream journals where they record every detail they can recall upon waking and can look back to them later, sometimes finding significant meaning even years later. Those who are particularly devout of Sarik have been known to receive Visions while awake. As with Dreams, there is much debate at times about the meaning and interpretation of these Visions.

There are others who worship Sarik as an escape more than a path to answers. For those whose waking lives are difficult, Sarik’s embrace can be a sanctuary, a place to rest and find enjoyment that is not available to them outside the realm of Dreams.

Many who are not devout followers of Sarik will still praise the god of Dreams regularly. After a long day of working the fields a farmer may give praise to Sarik and ask for an easy night’s sleep. It is common for parents to teach their children a prayer to Sarik to keep away nightmares. All who sleep have at least teetered on the edge of Sarik’s realm, and all who heed the messages of their Dreams have embraced Sarik’s gift.

There are two known living embodiments of Sarik, the Herald of Visions and the Harbinger of Nightmares. The Herald of Visions is known to often be neutral, helpful, if not outright benevolent, to assist mortals with seeing destinies, possible futures, and fates. The Harbinger of Nightmares is a malevolent force that feeds off the fears of mortals.

Sarik followers do not assign a High Priest, but Seer is a title used by many who receive Sarik’s blessings. It is said that some of Sarik’s most devout worshipers are Dream Walkers who serve the god of Visions from within the Dream Realm.

Sarik’s is associated with the colors purple and blue. Sarik’s symbol is the Third Eye, often depicted akin to the ritual symbol Einsu.
