"I am master of all things. Mountains crumble before me, oceans are no more. I am the perpetual and the infinite, stretching forward and back. All men bow before me. I flow and rush and drag and stop, embracing all things. I am eternal. I am time."
- Introduction to the lost Book of the Eternal, as scribed by Mother Aenara

Toklin is the god of Time. Followers of Toklin like to say that everyone and everything is a follower of Toklin, for truly, what is immune to the ravages of time? A true follower of Toklin, however, gives him or herself over wholly to the flow of time. This may be active, embodied in someone who lives life to the fullest, knowing that time is too precious to waste. It might be passive, a scholar who spends their life in contemplation of what has been and what will be. There are even persistent rumors that those especially favored by Toklin never age, and may even be able to manipulate the flow of time itself.

Many worshipers of Toklin hold a deep respect for the lessons of history knowing that the record of time can teach us much. They believe that when we lose those lessons the future may falter in the mistakes of the past. Many scholars and librarians give praise to Toklin as they study the histories of Ashriya, or work to record the present knowing it will someday be part of the histories.

Others look to Toklin as all knowing; the past, present and future are His domain after all. They take solace in knowing that Toklin knows every action that has occurred, and every yet to happen. And that each beat of time is predetermined and will happen just as it should.

There are many less devout who give praise to Toklin on occasion. They may recognize the blessing of time spent with a loved one, a hard day of work that passes quickly, or the longer days of summer.

Toklin has always existed, but has never been prominent, nor sought any power. Many followers of Toklin say that time must always flow, and therefore, Toklin will always be. There is no organized structure for Toklin worshippers. There are no prominent Temples of Toklin. However, those that do dedicate themselves to Toklin often go by the title “Mother” or “Father”.

Toklin’s colors are white and black, and His symbol is an hourglass.
